Maintenance of Fire Alarms

Fire alarms should be checked regularly. It is a requirement of the insurance regulations in SBF110.

Regular supervision is done daily and a simple function check occurs once a month. These checks are normally performed by the system attendant. The person should have undergone training as system attendant.

Each quarter, an enhanced control should be performed. Several detectors at different sections should get tested. Once a year, yearly maintenance with a full function check is carried out. It is normally done by external service providers. Batteries should be replaced every five years to ensure emergency operation in case of a power outage.

We perform quarterly tests and annual inspection of fire and emergency alarm supplied by us. Regular service leads to fewer false alarms than for the corresponding systems without maintenance.

For so-called official establishments that shall comply with SBF110 it is a requirement that maintenance and repair work is done. Normally a  maintenance contract is signed.
