KitchenX system design

KitchenX is a state-of-the-art automatic fire suppression system designed specifically for restaurant kitchens. It is built for areas with high risk of grease and fat fires: deep fryers, grills, griddles, ventilating hoods, and ductwork. KitchenX detects and extinguishes fire swiftly before it spreads or causes major damage.

Why grease fires are especially dangerous

  • Almost half of all fires in hotels and restaurants start in the kitchen.
  • Grease and cooking oil are highly flammable. Once ignited, they can self-ignite again if not properly extinguished.
  • Fires in vent systems, grills or fryer oil can spread rapidly to other areas of the building.
System Design & Installation

System Design & Installation

  • KitchenX is engineered to cover the cooking line, extract hood, filters and ductwork.
  • Stainless steel nozzles are strategically placed to ensure optimal coverage and rapid activation.
  • The system includes both manual release options and automatic triggering mechanisms.
  • Components are thoughtfully integrated to minimize space usage and visual disruption in the kitchen environment.

Suppressant agent

The suppressant agent is an aqueous solution composed of high activity salts and stabilizers, specially formulated for combating fires involving oils, fats, and grease. Because it is pre-mixed, there is no need for on-site dilution before system charging. It is ideal for use in restaurant appliances such as deep fat fryers, chip pans, griddles, kitchen hoods, and ventilating equipment.

Features & Benefits

Features & Benefits

Feature What It Means
Certified protection Meets international safety standards (e.g. EN 17446, local authority approvals).
Automatic & manual activation System activates automatically in fire event; also can be manually activated.
Compact, discreet installation Tanks and components take minimal space; often mounted in stainless steel cabinets.
Safe fire suppressant Uses a fluorine-free, low pH liquid agent specifically formulated for fighting grease, fat and oil fires.
Long-lasting protection The liquid agent leaves a residue that helps prevent re-ignition.
Maintenance & Service

Maintenance & Service

  • Regular service is essential to ensure readiness. KitchenX components include tanks, nozzles, piping, detection and actuation devices that must be inspected.
  • Components are designed for easy replacement.
  • After activation, the system should be cleaned and reset so the kitchen is back in operation quickly.
Safety, Compliance & Insurance

Safety, Compliance & Insurance

Many insurance companies and local fire safety regulations require certified fire suppression systems in commercial kitchens. KitchenX is designed to fulfill or exceed those requirements. Using a fluorine-free liquid agent helps in compliance with environmental and safety regulations while maintaining high performance.
